Today Torie and I watched some of the most talented students on stage. Grover Washington Jr. Middle School put on Disney’s “Aladdin Jr.” as its third annual musical production this weekend and It was magical.
The cast’s and crew’s months of preparation really showed. It was clear that the school, on Philadelphia’s East Olney Avenue, has a truly supportive administration.
The musical was more than an afternoon of entertainment for us. It took stepping out on their beliefs in their talent for these kids to go on stage. Now, that’s a risk. And for them it was totally worth it!
Thank you Grover Washington Jr. Middle School for not playing it safe, but letting your talent shine for all of us to see.
